KPPCSD is a Community Services District that provides Police Protection, Parks & Recreation, and Waste Management services to the unincorporated area of Kensington in Contra Costa County. The KPPCSD is located in the hills near Berkeley, Albany & El Cerrito. The KPPCSD is actively recruiting for the position of Chief of Police. The KPPCSD is seeking police chief applicants who wish to have a primary focus on modern community policing with world class customer service. Kensington does not have a significant call volume and focuses efforts on building community relationships, crime prevention and traffic safety.
KPPCSD is seeking a veteran law enforcement leader who has an established track record of building and maintaining community trust, implementing innovative community policing techniques and being accessible to all. The selected candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, problem solving, fiscal, management and leadership skills.
The desired applicant for police chief is a seasoned professional who has at least three years of management experience in a law enforcement agency. Possession of Master’s Degree, completion of POST Command College and/or the FBI National Academy is preferred. The current salary for Chief of Police is $12,328.93 with a 4% raise effective 7-1-2020.
